Q | Quality
High quality of talent. High quality of design. And high quality support – that is what the “Designer for Tomorrow” award stands for: Giving up- and- coming talents the best possible support. To assure a high quality of design, the DfT puts its trust in the patron, as well as the Jury Board consisting of experts, who have chosen their personal Top 5 from more than 350 applications this year. To assure a high quality of support, the DfT is constantly working on the sustainable and individual sponsorship program the DfT winner is provided with.
R | Responsibility
As a traditional retail company with a lot of experience in the fashion industry, the Peek & Cloppenburg KG, Duesseldorf assumes full responsibility for up-and-coming fashion talents. Taking into consideration that the DfT already celebrates its sixth season this July, P&C has been aware of this responsibility from very early on and has been proactive ever since with the international establishment of the fashion talent award “Designer for Tomorrow”.
S | Sponsors
The unique creations of former DfT winners have gained support of great sponsors for fabrics and other materials. Again, the DfT says thank you to all its partners who have supported the winners of the award over the last years!

On the great day of the award show in July, each of the five finalists is hoping to hold it in their hands: the trophy of the “Designer for Tomorrow” award, which represents the great creativity and talent of the up- and coming designer.
U | Up-and-coming designers
Up-and-coming fashion designers are an integral part of the fashion business – it is their ideas and visions that keeps the industry going. Most of them have just graduated at university, free in finding inspirations or drawing concepts and concentrating completely on their own creativity and new ideas. They do not think of limitations when it comes to designing a collection. However, they have a great impact on the fashion industry that is subject to a constant change, a constant development of ideas, where an experimental look may find its wearable transformation in a simple print or detail.
