Three weeks have passed since Leandro Cano‘s first solo fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Much has been talked about the collection so far. The shapes. The print. The ceramic. We thought it would be the right time to put an eye on the ones who carried the creations down the runway, who lent their personality, who made the outfits come to life: the models.
Franziska Frank, Mega Model Agency
Franziska is one of the German talents Leandro selected for his first solo fashion show. That said, she was the perfect choice for an editorial in ZEIT Magazine. And for modeling for a famous German designer: Karl Lagerfeld. Last year, she was part of his famous Versailles-inspired Chanel show. But also internationally, she is a talent to watch out for. Besides having stepped onto various catwalks in New York, her face can be seen in Marie Claire US regularly. Leandro’s choice for Franziska: the very tight leather dress in burgundy with long sleeves and extra-accentuated hips.
Alyona Subbotina, Modelwerk
The 1,79-meter-high girl is internationally known for her beauty and talent to transform into different characters. That earned her various editorials for the likes of I-D, Dazed & Confused, V Magazine, POP Magazine, Interview and last but not least: Vogue Italia! Also, in Europe she walked for the big ones such as Givenchy, Fendi and Issey Miyake. For Leandro, she stepped out in a white and tight overall with white ceramic appliqués on shoulders and hips as well as in a see-through plastic dress with flowered embroidery
Chloe Memisevic, IZAIO Management
She is a famous one! And one of the stars of Leandro Cano’s show. Not only because the blonde model wore “the dress” – the opulent dress with a crinoline-like, long skirt, baroque print and hand painted ceramic applications (it gained her and the designer an extra-applause). One will have recognized her from the runways of Proenza Schouler, Jeremy Scott and: Marc Jacobs. Marc loves her! Not only has she been walking in the latest shows for Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs, she also appeared in an advertising campaign of the patron. Good choice, Leandro!
Gwen Lu, VIVA Models
This Asian beauty fitted perfectly to Leandro’s unique collection. And unique is the right term when it comes to Gwen Lu as well. Her incredible face was the right choice for beauty campaigns by Schwarzkopf, Shiseido and Aveda. She also has a cover for Harper’s Bazaar in her portfolio. At Leandro’s fashion show in Berlin, she lend her uniqueness to a very short knit dress with white ceramic appliqués as well as to a print skirt (very short again) and a white long sleeve with slit shoulders and fake fur application.
Appoline, Iconic Management
It is enough to mention her first name! Brown hair. Brown eyes. Incredibly beautiful face. Although she is more or less a newcomer, she already walked for 3.1 Philip Lim and Theysken’s Theory in New York as well as Etro in Milan. In Berlin, she lent her beauty to Leandro Cano’s collection wearing a white overall with fake fur details on the legs. Here, she also was the star presenting the last look: a short, printed dress with sharp cut-outs and those hand painted ceramic flowers Leandro is famous for by this time.
