Only one day to go until Leandro Cano will present his first solo fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin! Since him winning the fashion talent award back in July, DfT has been supporting Leandro with a sustainable, individual sponsorship program: we remember him making an inspirational journey to our patron Marc Jacobs, visiting the textile Première Vision in Paris and working on his creations in his own atelier in Seville. Now it’s getting serious! Leandro’s new collection is finished. Time to say thank you to our partners who have supported the up-and-coming designer in making the surreal and unique creations come to life.
Fashion meets science – Deepmello is a german textile company proving that fashion can be sustainable and ecologically friendly. The team consisting of scientists developed naturally tanned leather – treated with roots of rhubarb – that is special in its look, scent and feel and established the young brand deepmello. As rhubarb is a renewable resource the result is extremely sustainable. Furthermore the leather is low in pollutants, what makes it entirely biodegradable. Alongside the label’s own fashion range, Deepmello supports the “Designer for Tomorrow” 2012, Leandro Cano, with high quality leather – a key element in his collections. www.deepmello.com
