The famous fashion designer continues to support young designers as the patron of the fashion talent award ‘Designer for Tomorrow’ – an initiative by Peek & Cloppenburg Duesseldorf.
In March, Louis Vuitton’s fashion director picked out his 30 favorite designers from more than 350 applications for the award. In his studio in New York, he put all of the look books, photos, and sketches on the floor to get a better general overview. “First I looked at all of the submissions, and every time I felt like one was addressing me personally I put it on a separate pile”, said Jacobs to explain his approach, “the second time around, I paid attention to the collection’s concept and the interaction of the colors, shapes and design.”
In this interview, Marc Jacobs explains his feeling of honor to be asked to come back as a patron and remembers his great time and experience during the last award period ‘Designer for Tomorrow’. He reveals what working together with the young designers means to him and how his daily life looks like. Watch now!
