That was quick! It has only been a couple of months since DfT winner Alexandra Kiesel presented her first collection at the finalists’ show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Now her designs are already presented in a museum exhibition: Three outfits from Alexandra’s winning collection will be displayed at the FASHION TALKS exhibition at the Museum for Communication in Berlin!
For her collection „Baukasten Individualisten 6/12/24”, the newcomer designer has created a system of scalable and combinable items of clothing. If you like to learn how the concepts of Alexandra’s building set designs work, there is a great video animation of how one can individualize Alexandra’s outfits at the FASHION TALKS blog.
Rather than simply creating a homogenous collection, the young design talent has been focusing on such a system from the early beginnings. Alexandra’s focus is to enable the person wearing the items to freely combine different designs. The longing for individualism is what she sees as the essence of today’s fashion.
FASHION TALKS is now on show at the Museum for Communication in Berlin until 4th December 2011 and illustrates how to combine the modules of Alexandra’s designs to express yourself.
