I am inspired by… the way people are. How they act and react. Society is an endless pool of inspiration for me
My motivation to take part at DfT is… to show my collection in a professional way.
My thoughts about Marc Jacobs: A great designer and very interesting person to learn from.
What I want to express with my design: I want to express my vision.
My collection in three words: Sustainable, colourful, elegant
My passion outside of fashion: Sports, cooking, design, art and culture
If you were a fashion piece in 2012, it would be? Something colourful
Your personal message: I feel very honoured to get the chance to present my work to Marc Jacobs!
Inspiration
When he first moved to Berlin, Siddhartha Anselm Meyer found an old sewing machine on the road. The city and people inspired him so much that he started creating his own designs with the machine. To Siddhartha, society is an endless pool of inspiration and he is inspired by the way people are, how they act and react. A powerful influence for his “old couture” collection were second-hand fabrics. One third of the collection is generated from these second-hand material, another one of entangled wool and the last third is made of newly purchased pure wool. The accessories are made of leather, cotton, PVC and faux-leather.
